La Calla Zantedeschia Black Star è una varietà ornamentale caratterizzata da eleganti fiori a calice in tonalità molto scure, tra il bordeaux profondo e il porpora quasi nero. Il contrasto con il fogliame verde dona alla pianta un aspetto raffinato e particolarmente decorativo, adatto a creare punti di forte interesse cromatico.
La pianta raggiunge circa 60 cm di altezza e può essere coltivata sia in pieno sole sia a mezz’ombra. È adatta anche alla coltivazione in vaso. Il bulbo si mette a dimora a circa 10 cm di profondità, mantenendo una distanza di 20 cm dalle altre piante; dopo la piantagione è opportuno ricoprire con terra e annaffiare bene.
La fioritura avviene da giugno ad agosto e dura circa 8 settimane. Gli steli slanciati e i caratteristici fiori a calice rendono Black Star adatta anche come fiore reciso.
Calla Zantedeschia Black Star is an ornamental variety distinguished by elegant, chalice-shaped flowers in very dark shades, ranging from deep burgundy to almost black-purple. Their contrast with the green foliage gives the plant a refined and highly decorative appearance, ideal for creating striking accents of colour.
The plant reaches approximately 60 cm in height and can be grown in either full sun or partial shade. It is also suitable for growing in pots. The bulb should be planted approximately 10 cm deep, leaving 20 cm between plants; after planting, cover with soil and water well.
Flowering takes place from June to August and lasts around 8 weeks. The slender stems and distinctive chalice-shaped flowers also make Black Star suitable for use as a cut flower.
