La Calla Zantedeschia Aethiopica è una bulbosa ornamentale dal portamento elegante, caratterizzata dalle classiche spate bianche che avvolgono uno spadice giallo. Il contrasto tra la fioritura chiara e il fogliame verde dona alla pianta un aspetto raffinato e luminoso.
Raggiunge circa 70 cm di altezza e può essere coltivata in pieno sole o a mezz’ombra. È adatta anche alla coltivazione in vaso. Il bulbo va posto a circa 15 cm di profondità, mantenendo una distanza di 25 cm tra le piante; dopo la messa a dimora è opportuno ricoprire con terra e annaffiare bene.
La fioritura avviene da maggio a luglio e dura circa 4 settimane. Gli eleganti fiori sostenuti da steli slanciati sono adatti anche al taglio e possono essere utilizzati per composizioni floreali recise.
